Following a similar Nintendo DS title, Touhoku College's Ryuuta Kawashima, a researcher who deals with brain imaging, is now working on a PSP game — Sega's Nouryoku Trainer Portable.

"First announced at Sony's recent PlayStation Meeting conference, Nouryoku Trainer offers players a number of activities designed to hone their thought process. In the game's training mode, you answer questions using quick input via the PSP's four face buttons. The game lets you chose the genre, difficulty and number of questions. You'll find mathematics and pattern-based questions, with your performance leading the a determination of your current brain level."

"It may appear that Sega copied Nintendo's idea with this title, but the origins of the PSP game actually lie in an original Sega property. Back in October of 2004, Sega Toys released Nouryoku Trainer, an electronic device that went on to be a big hit. The PSP title is apparently based on this."
