Review Crazy Taxi Fare Wars
Greetings ladies and gentlemen gamers all a like. I would like to take the time to thank Gameflavor for keeping me on during my absence and I know some of you have missed my great reviews and some might not, lol anyway just want to say thanks for always reading and keeping me aboard. On to the review now!
For those of you that have problems with cab drivers or rather getting a taxi all together, fear no longer my friends because the lovely people at Sega have brought back a classic gem that is travel size. Back in the when there was a system called the Dreamcast, you were introduced to many games that were thinking. One of them is you being a cabby picking up people and taking them to there destination. Later on a sequel was introduced based on New York style of taxis, however the Dreamcast died and only a third Crazy Taxi was introduced later on for the Xbox, until now! Buckle your sit belt and watch that meter because Crazy Taxi Fare Wars hits the PSP!

Even though it is ported to the PSP handheld you still get to enjoy the crazy taxi from the past. You are granted both of the first Crazy Taxi series in one sweet package. First of course is the original crazy taxi where it seems to be a west coast setting? In this feature you have fewer features, but still have the original cast and challenges to deal with especially the distance you have to travel and how fast you can get there in time.

With Crazy Taxi 2 you get a bit more variety and a new feature which I call bunny hop. You can manually make your car jump in the air to get past obstacles meaning traffic or for better shortcuts through the rough city of NYC. You can do crazy drift, crazy through and crazy blur which put you into a speed boost to get to your destination faster.

However the down side is all the endorsements are gone. I remember all the nice advertisements that were put into the game to make it so real. Places such as KFC or Pizza hut that were advertised during the old title. On a lighter note they added a custom soundtrack to the game. It is really cool just save a music folder in root to the PSP and adds your music into the folder. The thing that annoys me is that you can't cycle through the music and it stays on one song half the time you are playing until you reset the game or start a new mission which mostly is effective on the Crazy Pyramid mini game.

Oh yes they even installed the Crazy Pyramid mini game where you go through a sequence of levels starting off with 5-1 and work your way up to the top. You can pick any driver you wish to break the pyramid records.
Lets recap a bit, you have both Crazy taxi games, Arcade and original mode both offering to play the game in three different time attacks 3 minutes, 5 and 10 minutes or just plan race through the streets and gather more time by picking up and completing missions. Then there is Crazy Pyramid mini game where you go through weird obstacles to unlock the replay feature which you can save for bargaining rights. Also the custom soundtrack feature which is a plus, but could use some fine tuning and this is in hopes that other PSP titles will utilize this feature in other future titles. Last but not least the multiplayer aspect of the game.
That’s right gamers what is a Crazy Taxi title with out some One on One taxi bashing competition? Nothing that’s what, replay value is important with any handheld and Crazy Taxi Fare Wars gives you all that and than some. So sit back put that car into drive and watch out for traffic because the Fare Wars are here to stay. Enjoy gamers and as always stay frosty!

Genre:Racing
Developer:Sega of American
Pros:A classic title ported to the PSP with the same great feel of the dreamcast version, but with an added custom soundtrack to make it more interesting. Abundant replay value and great characters to choose from.
Cons:The advertisements that made it more realistic to take customers has been taken out. Even with the custom soundtrack you don't have the option to change tracks at will. Secret characters should have been added.
PSPworld Rating: A Crazy 4.5 out of 5
