MGS Peace Walker: Demo Review

Snake... is that you Snake? Those were my first impressions when our hero first arrives on the Beach Training Ground with his new beard and patch. This is Snake, only it's actually the Boss this time round.

The Metal Gear saga has always been confusing, but gaps in the ever-twisting story are
finally being filled in more for us. The latest canonical entry in the Metal Gear Story is coming to an unlikely platform -- Hideo Kojima has shunned the fancy new PS3 hardware to focus instead on Sony's underdog PSP platform.

After the awesomeness of Portable Ops, we're surely in for a treat, as the master prepares the latest Metal Gear adventure on our favorite handheld platform. Our time with the Peace Walker demo confirms those suspicions.

The game's premise looks meaty and it's great to have new characters to form bonds with and baddies to trip up with a little CQC. Peace Walker looks to be the MGS we all wanted on PSP. A truly open, satisfying action adventure you can take with you and play on the move. It's like a reassuring nod from Kojima as though to say PSP gamers I haven't forgotten you, here's MGS5 now go enjoy yourself.

The demo is mainly an opoortunity to get to grips with the new style techy controls with you messing around on the beach. Its very much a practice patch with a chance for your eyes to drink some psp visuals.

For the PSP, this game looks great. Character models and environments are more complex than we have seen in any other PSP game to date. However, please Hideo if your reading this, could I please get a copy of this game for the PS3 in stunning 1080p? This game really should come out on PS3 too.

Even though there are some AWESOME games on the horizon in 2010 for PS3
owners, some fans would give all of them up for a fully fledged PS3 version of Metal Gear Solid 5: Peace Walker [see the title amendment]. The game could even make use of the same engine used in Metal Gear Solid 4. Even though I am obviously a MGS Fanatic, the point I am trying to make is that PSP owners are very, very lucky to have this exclusive to their system. I predict that the game will help move large amounts of PSP hardware to die-hard fans.
