MGS: Peace Walker Co-op Gameplay Video

One of the highlights of Konami's press event today at GamesCom was definitely Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker. Producer Hideo Kojima took the stage to explain the multiplayer co-op mode in the upcoming game, which is due early in 2010. Kojima also came prepared with an epic 9-minute long trailer (which you can view below). The trailer opens with Snake running through Mayan ruins, being pursued by what can only be described as a very angry UFO (Has Kojima jumped the shark like the Indiana Jones series? We wonder...)

Joined by 3 clone buddies in what must be ad-hoc multiplayer, our heroic troupe sets off in search of adventure. They find it in the form of a tank, which gives us the opportunity to see a new shield feature in action. The shields aren't enough to deflect tank shells, though, so one of the snake clones whips out an RPG.

The trailer ends with a look at the new "tank box", which is pure awesome.
