Have you ever wanted a lawyer that was a superhero as well? If so than Harvey Birdman Attorney at law is the lawyer for you. Capcom has teamed up with Cartoon Networks Adult Swim to bring you this handheld title based on the hit cartoon. Sit back gamers and have your evidence ready for this review from yours truly Quan.

“I’ll take the case!” Famous words straight from Birdman himself, same for me as I lay judgment on this game. Right at the start of the game there is a crime being commited and of course the wrong person or Hippo I might say is being accused. Your friend Peter Potamus is being accused of burning down your home and of course he comes to you for help to prove his innocence. What else can you do but help your friend in need while also making sure you is paid for your efforts. You have the pleasure of seeing all the cast members of the show while hearing funny commentary that pushes the game along.

The great part of the game is full voice acting and animation. There are no still pictures involved into this game which is a big plus in my opinion. Each case you will interact with, you will have to present evidence and press witnesses in the hopes to find the truth and nothing but the truth! On the right hand side of the screen you have the Birdman emblem which represents your health. Now if you present the wrong evidence during your cross examination, then an emblem is taken away. Try to listen very carefully as you interrogate witnesses and the accused.

The fun and quirky characters through the game are very entertaining while you are playing. It has the same spirit as the cartoon series did, which I give a thumbs up too. Sometime game developers miss that certain element when they try to make a game based on a cartoon.
Now I will bring evidence to the court that brings a bit of a problem to the game. The simple fact that it plays as if you are watching a cartoon bugs me. Little bits of interaction are not enough. You are basically playing a multiple choice game. If the game had a sort of map mode where you can jump to places and gather your own evidence which would be more of a challenge to winning your case, then it would be more interesting. I honestly don’t believe it is justified for this game to be $29.99 when you are technically just watching the cartoon. The last thing that is a slight peeve of confusion is when you complete a mission and win the case, the credits begin to roll. What is that? That alone gave me a bad impression because you are making the gamer believe the game is over. That was being too true to the cartoon if you ask me. I would suggest making the game seem like one big episode and than roll the credits at the end of course.

My final summary I have to make for this title. The game has funny game -play that fans of the series will enjoy, especially with all the original voice acting involved. More player control and investigations for evidence would have been a plus. I honestly don’t see much replay value since there are no multiplayer modes. I would say rent this title if you are not much of a fan. I will have to give Harvey Birdman Attorney at Law 2 Avengers out of 5. Case Closed!
