Darius Burst PSP Gameplay Video

Quality shooters are one area in which the PSP is sorely lacking. Perhaps as a result of the device's landscape widescreen orientation, most established shooter franchises have steered clear of the capable handheld. The R-Type series even went the tactical turn-based route rather than provide the twitch action that shmup fans crave! It's a shame really. Luckily, Taito and Square Enix are about to enter the scene with their new shooter, Darius Burst. This entry in the long-running sideways shooter series looks as good as its critically acclaimed predecessors. Enemies feature giant, aquatic creatures, but don't bother asking why. The gameplay in the video below looks tight as always, and the scenery gorgeous. We can't wait to try this title out when it launches in Japan on December 24th.
