sony-RDR-AX75.jpgSony has announced a new digital video recorder (DVR) that can transfer MPEG-4 videos directly to the PSP without an encoding process.

"The Sony RDR-AX75 can store MPEG-4 videos (H.264 encoding) on its 250GB hard drive and burn them to Dual-Layers DVDs, but what really sets it apart is that these videos can be copied via the integrated Memory Stick Duo slot into a card, then replayed 'as is' on the Sony PSP portable console. It’s a nice initiative from Sony, one that competitors did not see coming. Note that the Firmware 2.0 is required to use these video files."
