PSP Go Price Drops to $169 USD, PSP 3000 to $129

As we predicted last week, the PSP Go will see a price drop beginning in June. American computer retailer Dell has already reduced the price of the PSP Go on its website to $169 ahead of the official announcement from Sony which is expected next week. This makes the download-only PSP Go somewhat more attractive, particularly after the 3 free game deal which was announced last week.

Meanwhile, Dell has also quietly reduced the price of the standard PSP 3000 to only $129, suggesting that these will be the new price points for Sony's portable hardware.

Why haven't other retailers dropped their price? It could be that Dell has simply broken street date ahead of an announcement. If that is the case, they could face some trouble for letting Sony's discount cat out of the bag.

What do you think? Will these price drops breathe new life into the PSP lineup? Was there anybody sitting on the fence and now feeling tempted to pull the trigger at this lower price? Let us know in the comments section below!
