Playstation Vita PSV Specifications

The upcoming Playstation Vita, or PSV for short, features some very impressive specs. The same way that Sony impressed everyone with the launch of its first generation PSP, this new handheld is a gadget-lover's dream come true. It's also a device that is sure to please dedicated gamers, with its dual analog sticks and big, vibrant touch screen. Importantly, the list of PSV launch games is equally impressive. The device will ship with a number of high-profile exclusives, including Uncharted, a new Call of Duty game, and a handheld Bioshock title. The PSV is priced at $299 for the 3G enabled version and $249 for the wifi-only machine. We expect it to launch in Late fall 2011 in North America.

UMD discs are gone, replaced by little memory cards. This medium can store the full software titles, and also save data as well as additional game content data. Therefore, the game title can be concluded with one card. There will also be expandable on-board storage for multimedia, accessible via memory card slot. Users can play PSP titles, minis and PS1 classics titles offered via digital download. So far, there is no option to connect the vita to an external TV display.
