Nokia N8 Embraces the Hacker Spirit

A new advertisement for Nokia's N8 handset showcases some incredible hardware hacks that can be pulled off using the device. A skateboard coupled to phone can register the tricks its owner is able to pull; in another vignette the mobile is used to control an LED light board. All of the mods featured in the ad are real. Besides making us really, really want a Nokia product for the first time in ages, this advert should be inspiration to other manufacturers. Instead of trying to lock hackers (as well as millions of legitimate users) out of their devices, perhaps companies like Sony should seek out ways to embrace the inner hacker in all of us. Anybody want to take bets that the upcoming Sony PSP phone won't allow homebrew apps?
