Neuros MPEG4 Recorder 2

neuros-mpeg4-t.jpg

neuros-r-80.jpgThe second incarnation of Neuros’ MPEG4 Recorder line, the MPEG4 Recorder 2 was designed with PSP and video iPod owners in mind. The Recorder adds a Memory Stick Duo slot in lieu of SD, and sports a redesigned interface to boot.

Users can record in three different resolutions — 640x480, 320x240 (ideal for video iPod and 4:3 shows on the PSP), and 368 x 208, which is optimized for playback of wide screen movies on the PSP. There are four quality settings, although the smaller resolutions offer only the Normal or Economy settings, probably due to the PSP’s 768Kbps cap on video. The recorder can handle both NTSC and PAL signals.

PSPworld Take: Simple, convenient video recording in PSP format, all in a compact form. Two different video sizes and qualities, although the recorder does have small issues when recording 2.35:1 video to the widescreen size. Overall, a nice interface, simple hookup, and the ability to access your movies, photos, and music from your TV. A great addition for any PSP owner that does a lot of video recording.

PSPworld Rating: 9.3
