Full Official Specs for the PSP 3000

psp_3000_3_colors_icon.jpg

On August 19, Sony announced the PSP-3000 at the industry conference in Leipzig. Now, we have had the chance to see the full product specifications for the new model, detailed below. While this revision does not make as many changes as the PSP Slim, it does include some very important improvements over the previous model. Namely, a brighter, less reflective screen for viewing outdoors, a built-in microphone for Skype (and games?), and video output to (non-HD) interlaced television sets. Reportedly, the new LCD screen has twice the refresh rate and twice the color depth of the current PSP-2000 model, meaning that games will look even better than ever and that pesky ghosting problem will be a thing of the past.

The new hardware will ship on October 14th, 2008 in North America, Japan, and Europe. Gamers will have the option of buying the PSP-3000 in one of 3 colors: Piano Black, Mystic Silver or Pearl White, all pictured below.

rayray just get custom firmware instead of official firmware so you can download free full games from websites also you can do so much more with custom firmware besides games then you ever could with official firmware

also if you were to get custom firmware you don't need to worry about your games from elsewhere not working on your psp just go to youtube to find out how to get custom firmware

hey guys you need to aware that psp 3000 does not have any custom firmware. just buy original games which I know they are expensive. However, think about the loss the games manufacturer are making because of pirated games...

1) what is the difference besides a better screen from the 2000 series? 2) It has been proven that pirating games helps the industry - people that download the ISOs will eventually buy the UMDs due to several factors (computer crashes, available resources, recent uploads, ect.) 3) the PSP Go! (psp2) Has had the UMD drive removed, the Duo slot removed and replaced with an alternate slot, added 8 or 16 gig internal memory, and the USB port has been redesigend into a wierd and frightning setup.

first commenter namely @bobby: it must be the psp go.... the psp 3000 has a cfw, but it can only last until the unit powers off, should the psp go have a GSM phone service?

I snagged a PSP 3000 off Ebay for $55! :) I don't mind replacing a broken analog stick. Apparently others do! I bought it solely for the non-hd video output. It will work great for playing games and movies with my video glasses! There is a hack for non-hd video on the PSP 2000 but it doesn't work well and slows down the game.
