Sony partners with TiVo to promote PSP

The main menu on thousands of TiVo boxes across North America now features advertising for the PSP. The "TiVo Central" section of the digital video recorder allows users to view the new POV Sony PSP commercial (called "Take it Out" on the TiVo menu) and a new promotional video, entitled "An Inside Look," that highlights the numerous features of the device. TiVo periodically uses the placement on its menu when companies are looking to reach a large number of consumers. Pictures of the TiVo menu with the PSP ads can be seen after the jump.

Brian Behrend: It's been up there since pretty much release day. It bugs the hell out of me when they put those ads as the last menu item. It makes it harder for me to put my TiVo on standby with the TV off. Normally I'll just push down until I hear the right noise (TiVo is plugged into receiver) and hit select twice. Now I have to remember whether or not an ad is there and go back up one when there is.
