Some clever PSP owners have figured out that the downloadable content section in Wipeout Pure, which takes advantage of the device's WiFi support, is actually a very basic mobile web browser. With some DNS server changes and other hacking, they got the embedded browser to connect to any website and not just Sony-specified ones. It appears to be a fairly technical process to get the browser up and running, and readers report that websites currently load extremely slow. However, this great news (and proof) for those of us who have been wishing for an official web browser and email client for the PSP — both of which have been rumored for months.
Further details and directions for the PSP web browser can be found here and here.
Update: Jonathan Terleski has set up a PSP web portal for those of you trying out the browser.
