Five PSP launch games to be online

GameSpot has recieved confirmation from Sony Computer Entertainment America (SCEA) that five of the PSP launch titles will feature online play via the console's built-in 802.11 wireless connectivity. The games to be online are:

• MLB, 989 Studios
• NBA, 989 Studios
• Gretzky NHL, 989 Studios
• ATV Offroad Fury: Blazin' Trails, SCEA
• Twisted Metal: Head On, SCEA

All five games will feature wireless multiplayer play in both a standard "ad hoc" and an online-enabled "infrastructure" mode. This is a first for gaming, making the PSP the first platform ever to have games playable online at launch.
